The Challenge

SES and Moov Africa required a rapid, large-scale VSAT rollout across more than 54 sites in Chad — a landlocked country with limited road infrastructure, extreme heat, and recurring fuel shortages that threatened vehicle availability. The compressed rollout schedule left no margin for supply-chain delays or logistical failures. Equipment had to be received, stored securely, staged by region, and delivered to dispersed sites without damage or loss, while field teams coordinated installations in parallel across the country.

Acel's Solution

Acel deployed an end-to-end logistics and field-services operation covering every stage from in-country warehousing through to final commissioning and handover.

  • In-country warehousing and secure equipment storage
  • Inventory management and site-by-site staging
  • Regional route planning around terrain and fuel constraints
  • Last-mile delivery to 54+ dispersed sites
  • VSAT equipment installation at each site
  • System commissioning and connectivity verification
  • Field team coordination and progress reporting
  • Completion documentation and customer handover

Acel pre-positioned equipment in a secure in-country warehouse and built a phased delivery schedule that accounted for road conditions and fuel availability. Field teams were deployed in parallel across regions to maintain rollout velocity. Each site received installation, alignment, commissioning and a connectivity test before sign-off, ensuring no site was handed over without verified service.

The Result

All 54+ sites were delivered, installed and commissioned on time and within budget. Despite difficult terrain and fuel shortages that would have stalled less-prepared operators, Acel's pre-planned logistics model and in-country resource network kept the programme on schedule throughout. SES and Moov Africa received a fully operational network with zero sites outstanding at programme close.

Why Acel

Large-scale rollouts in challenging markets fail at the logistics layer — not the technology layer. Acel's in-country warehousing capability, regional delivery networks and experienced field teams give satellite operators and mobile network operators a single accountable partner for equipment receipt, storage, delivery, installation and commissioning. We absorb the operational complexity so our customers can focus on their network.
